Armstrong’s Woodhaven Featured as “Green Element” on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

On November 30, 2008, Armstrong’s Woodhaven ceiling product line appeared on ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition as the home’s “green element” in order to highlight the importance of an environmentally friendly build. The eleventh episode of the new season featured the Nickless family of Holt, Michigan. After the tragic loss of her husband, Tim, Arlene Nickless and her three sons were left to fend for themselves in a dilapidated 1860s home in desperate need of repair.

Armstrong donated WoodHaven laminate ceiling planks in Rustic Pine to accent the family’s new great room. In addition to adding warmth to the large space, the planks are made from 98 percent recycled wood fibers that would otherwise be wasted or end up in landfills. Armstrong also hired a skilled team to install the planks in the Nickless’ home.

Armstrong’s WoodHaven Featured in Ty’s Secret Room on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

On October 26, 2008, Armstrong’s WoodHaven laminate ceiling planks were featured in “Ty’s Secret Room” on ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. The fifth episode of the show’s new season featured the McCully family of Bigelow, Arkansas. The family’s moldy, dilapidated home had been deemed uninhabitable, and they were in desperate need of a safer, healthier place to live. A new home was especially critical for the McCully’s 10-year-old son, Job, a leukemia, bone marrow and double lung transplant survivor.

For this extraordinary build, Armstrong donated WoodHaven ceiling planks in a Classic White finish. The ceiling planks were a beautiful accent to the tray ceiling in the McCully’s master bedroom, also know to television viewers as “Ty’s Secret Room.”

Armstrong’s Metallaire Featured on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

On October 19, 2008, Armstrong’s Metallaire decorative metal ceiling panels were featured on ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. The fourth episode of the show’s new season featured the King family of Charlotte, North Carolina. The family’s in-home daycare center, which serves the entire community, was infected with a hazardous mold and in danger of being shut down before the Extreme Makeover team came to the rescue.

For this special build, Armstrong donated Metallaire ceiling tiles in the Wreath pattern with a copper finish, creating a stunning focal point in the King’s new dining room area. The company also hired a skilled team to install the metal ceiling in the home.

Armstrong’s Metallaire Backsplash Featured on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

On October 12, 2008, Armstrong’s Metallaire backsplash product made its television debut on ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. The third episode of the show’s new season featured the Anders-Beatty family of Richland Center, Wisconsin. The family, a widowed, award-winning teacher of 29 years and her four children, turned to the Extreme Makeover team to save them from a home that was literally crumbling around them.

As a beautiful complement to the Anders-Beatty’s new modern farmhouse-inspired kitchen, Armstrong donated a Metallaire stainless steel backsplash in the Vine pattern.
