ARMSTRONG FIRST IN CEILING INDUSTRY TO OFFER
RADIAL CEILINGS IN WOOD, METAL AND FIBERGLASS
New Capability Offers Design Enhancement for Layouts That Call
For Something Other Than Square or Rectangular Ceiling Panels
CHICAGO, June 13, 2005 -- A new capability from Armstrong now provides architects and designers with the opportunity to use
radial ceilings in wood, metal or fiberglass to reflect the architectural design of the space.
Offered in Armstrong MetalWorksÔ, WoodWorksÔ and Optima® product lines, these custom ceiling capabilities were created to offer a design enhancement for layouts that
call for something other than square or rectangular ceiling panels.
The diversity of radial ceiling materials provides a variety of design options to meet the aesthetic needs of a space: WoodWorks
ceilings add a rich, warm look; MetalWorks, a sophisticated, high tech look; and Optima®, a clean, fine-textured look.
Broadest Range of Options in Industry
Ideal for use in high visibility spaces, the radial ceilings are offered in the broadest range of options in the ceiling industry,
including three substrates, dozens of finishes and a range of price points.
A wide range of performance characteristics is also available, including an option for acoustical control. All three ceiling
systems can also be designed to provide access to the plenum, including the exclusive "Access" installation system for wood
ceilings. Because the ceilings are factory engineered, the need for field cutting may be eliminated.
Armstrong radial ceilings can help meet sustainable design goals as well, since Optima® ceilings contain 40% recycled content,
WoodWorks ceilings, 45%, and MetalWorks ceilings, 25%.
Design Assistance Available
Design assistance with radial ceilings is available from Armstrong through its Architectural Specialties group, a consultative
service comprised of specialists with expertise in both architecture and engineering whose sole mission is to partner with
designers in the implementation of custom ceiling designs.
